Research Interests

Currently, I am focused on understanding ethanol metabolism in mammals that consume fermented foods (fruits and nectar) in the wild, specifically treeshrew and bat species. I want to understand the origins of human ethanol metabolism in terms of frugivory. Previously, I have studied parasitic helminth presence and diversity in wild white-faced capuchins with relation to seasonality and host-level factors using genomic techniques.
