"The excavations at the so-called Villa of Titus (Castel Sant’Angelo, Rieti)"

Thursday, May 23, 2019

Congratulations to Matt Munro (PhD candidate) and co-authors (M. McCallum, M. Beckmann and S. Nardelli) for their recent publication highlighting findings of their 2018 field season in Italy: “The excavations at the so-called Villa of Titus (Castel Sant’Angelo, Rieti)”.

Munro is working with a team of researchers from St. Mary’s University and McMaster University excavating the structure in order to expand current knowledge of the site which has been suggested to be a bath house, or possibly a villa owned by the emperor Titus and the Flavian Dynasty of Rome. Dr. Gerald Oetelaar is Munro’s supervisor.
