Adriana Anaranjada Fina

This is a rare type that is most specifically found in Epiclassic contexts.  Published examples are found in Noguera's (1937) edition of El Altar de los Craneos Esculpidos, where several small ollas are illustrated with the characteristic shallow grooving.  Other examples were identified from UA-1, where they were called "Imitation Fine Orange" (McCafferty 1993, 2001).  More recently, examples were found in association with a trash filled well in San Pedro Cholula, in association with Cocoyotla Black on Orange and import wares such as Tohil Plumbate and a fine white ware that probably originated in the Huaxteca.  While samples are currently awaiting C14 dating, these contexts likely date to the Early Tlachihualtepetl/Epiclassic period (AD 700-900).
