Research Interests

My ongoing research examines ancient Maya household economic strategies with a focus on how these practices and activities impact the social organization of communities. My research interests include settlement patterns, household archaeology, ancient land use and change, production and exchange systems, archaeometry, and human-environment interactions. I have conducted archaeological research in Belize, Mexico, and Ontario. I am the Field Director for the Stann Creek Regional Archaeology Project (, which is currently focused on the site of Alabama, Stann Creek District, Belize, and a Field Supervisor for the Proyecto Arqueológico Yaxnohcah (PAY), which is investigating Yaxnohcah, Campeche, Mexico.
