Picturing the Past: Fossils in Art

Wednesday, September 13, 2017 - 10:00am to Sunday, September 24, 2017 - 4:00pm
Gallery, Taylor Institute for Teaching and Learning

Join us for the unique exhibition: Picturing the Past: Fossils in Art. See how artists ‘flesh out’ long-extinct animals and plants using detailed anatomical reconstructions and a dash of creativity!

The gallery is open daily from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

PaleoArt is integral to the science of paleontology and is the main way that fossil discoveries are communicated to the public. This highly technical art form allows plenty of opportunity for creativity. Picturing the Past: Fossils in Art features paintings, digital art, and sculptures created by students, as well as local, and international professional paleoartists.
