Family

I  am married to my best friend, Sharisse. Sharisse was a professional speech pathologist, specializing in children with language disabilities. She retired from the Rocky View School District in southern Alberta. Now she is fully engaged in research as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Calgary, collaborating on articles and organizing past archaeological materials. Sharisse is also my close collaborator in research projects, including field work in Nicaragua. We love to travel, though it is usually work related. We recently bought a retirement home in Granada, Nicaragua.

My son, Dylan, is married to Clare Murphy and they have a beautiful 1-year old daughter, Remebrance. They live in Calgary where he teaches at a local middle school. Our daughter Kalleen lives in Indianapolis, Indiana, with her husband Brent and children Ozmodeus and Marigold. Daughter Celise received her PhD in Anthropology at the University of California (Berkeley) and is now Assistant Professor at the University of Kentucky. She is married to Tom Fricker, and have daughter Omeline and baby Murphy.
