Research Interests

The Costa Rica Monkey Project, began in 1983 and focuses on the behavioural ecology, demography, and life histories of  the primates species in the Área de Conservación Guanacaste (Santa Rosa) – capuchins, spider monkeys and howlers.  Each graduate student pursues their own project, mainly on capuchin behavioural ecology and each contributes to the long-term database.

The PACE Lab Project began in 2011 and is a collaborative effort to establish an integrated database of primate field information. When completed, this database will be accessible from each of four field sites managed by the four primatology professors in our department (Ghana, Madagascascar, Belize and Costa Rica). Collaborative papers based on data from across field sites are planned for the future.
